The Musandam region, separated from the rest of Oman by the United Arab Emirates, is the northern most part of the Sultanate. The dramatic Musandam peninsula is perhaps one of the most scenically spectacular area in the Gulf. These spectacular fjords have given the area a second name "The Norway of Arabia”. The peninsula is mainly inhabited by the Shihuh, who are fishermen and herdsmen and are probably descended from the original inhabitants of northern Oman. Fishing is the peninsula's main industry with packing plants at al-Khasab and Bay'ah. Transportation is mostly by sea, since no roads cross the forbidding terrain.

Your day begins at 06:30 with a pick-up at your hotel and transfer to Musandam Khasab, Oman. On the drive you’ll travel via Ras Al Khaimah and cross the border into Oman.

At 10:00 you’ll depart on a full-day cruise to the spectacular fjords of Musandam.

Midway during the cruise, the dhow will anchor at Telegraph Island, where you’ll be able to swim and snorkel in the pleasant, clear waters, amongst the friendly and colourful fish. There’s a possibility that you’ll see dolphins during the cruise.

On board the dhow you’ll enjoy a tasty Oriental buffet lunch with refreshments, including soft drinks and fruits, also available.

After lunch you’ll have more time for swimming, snorkelling, or relaxing and admiring the amazing landscapes.

At 16:00 you’ll head back to the harbour and afterwards will be transferred back to your hotel.

• A minimum of 2 persons is required to arrange a pick-up.

• The tour and transport are on a shared basis.

Visa policy:

• All European, U.S. and U.K. nationals can obtain a visa upon arrival (on the day of the trip).
